Home Updates and Repairs in Brandon, Riverview, and Lithia

You've been in the house a while now, maybe since it was new. The cabinets are still the ones the builder picked, the floors have taken ten years of kids and dogs, and there's a hallway door that hasn't closed properly since the second summer. You don't need to gut the place. You need somebody who shows up, does the work well, and cleans up after himself.

I'm Ricky Powers. Thirty-plus years working in people's homes, and I'm on every job myself. When you call us, you get me, not a call center and not a salesman.

The kind of homes we see out here

Southeast Hillsborough grew fast and it shows in the houses. Brandon, Riverview, and the FishHawk side of Lithia are mostly production homes from the last twenty or thirty years. Solid bones, builder-grade finishes, and a spec-book kitchen that was fine on the floor plan and never quite fit your family.

There's older Brandon too, nearer the original core, where the houses have more character and the trim work takes more patience. Either way the work out here lands in the same place: surfaces, finishes, carpentry, and the upkeep that keeps a Florida house from aging fast.

What we do

One crew, one person on point, and a short list we're genuinely good at.

  • Cabinets. New doors and drawer fronts, new hardware, refinishing what's there, or setting new boxes in the same layout.
  • Counters and backsplash.
  • Tile. Floors, showers, backsplashes, and the grout lines that give a job away.
  • Flooring. Vinyl plank, laminate, and wood, plus the transitions and thresholds most crews rush.
  • Paint, inside and out, with the prep and the caulking that decide how long it lasts.
  • Trim, doors, and hardware, including the carpentry around them.
  • Fixtures swapped in place, a faucet or a vanity going back where the old one sat.
  • Repairs and upkeep. Drywall patches, rotted trim and fascia, caulking, pressure washing, gutters.

Two of these have their own pages: kitchen remodeling in Brandon, Riverview, and Lithia and bathroom remodeling in the area.

The honest part

Not everything on your list is worth doing. If your cabinet boxes are solid, new doors and paint get you most of the way there for a fraction of what new boxes cost, and I'll say so even though it's the smaller job.

If the budget and the wish list don't line up, you'll hear it before you spend anything. We work out here because we want to be the crew your neighbor tells you about, and you don't earn that by overpromising.

The bigger projects

If what you're planning means moving walls or adding square footage, that's a different kind of job. Permits out here run through Hillsborough County, and they're the right first call on anything that size. Ask them what your project needs and who they'll accept to pull it.

Tell us anyway. There's often a piece of it we can do well while you sort out the rest.

One next step. If you're in Brandon, Riverview, Lithia, or the FishHawk area and something in the house needs doing, tell us about your project. Tell us the room, roughly what you're picturing, and where you are, and we'll give you an honest read on whether we're the right crew. We keep our schedule small on purpose, so every job gets done right.
