What we collect, and what we don’t.
You’re thinking about letting a contractor into your home. The least we can do is be straight with you about what happens when you visit this website. Here it is in plain English, no fine print.

The short version
We don’t sell your information. We don’t run ads that follow you around the internet. Two outside services touch your data: Google Analytics, which tells us how many people read a page, and the service that carries our contact form to our inbox. That’s the whole list.
When you just read the site
We use Google Analytics to see which pages people actually read. It sets cookies in your browser and collects things like the pages you visit, roughly how long you stay, the kind of device you’re on, and a shortened version of your IP address that points at a general area rather than your house.
We look at it in totals. We’re trying to learn whether the deck article was worth writing, not who you are. Google is the one running that service, and their handling of it is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
If you’d rather not be counted, that’s fine, and section 5 shows you how to opt out.
When you send us your project
The contact form asks for your name, your email, your phone number, and what you’re planning. You type it, so you decide what goes in it.
That form is carried to our email inbox by an outside service called FormSubmit. Your message passes through their system on the way to us, which means they handle it in transit. Once it lands, it sits in our email like any other message from a customer.
We use what you send us to answer you and to work out whether we’re a fit for the job. That’s it. We don’t add you to a mailing list, we don’t pass your details to other contractors, and we don’t sell them to anybody.
Prefer to skip the form? Call us at 813-957-2263 or email contact@gopowersconstruction.com and you’ve skipped it.
Cookies, and who sets them
A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser so it can recognize the same browser later. This site sets none of its own. The only cookies here come from Google Analytics, and they’re there to count visits.
There’s no advertising pixel on this site. Nothing here is building a profile of you to sell you something later.
How to opt out
- Google’s own opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on that turns off Analytics everywhere you go, not only here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Your browser. Every major browser can block or clear cookies in its settings. Blocking them stops the counting.
- Do Not Track. Browsers send this signal differently and there’s no agreed standard behind it, so we’d rather point you at the two controls above, which actually do something.
How long we keep things
Google Analytics holds its usage data on Google’s systems on the schedule set in our account. What you send through the contact form stays in our email so we have a record of the conversation, the same way a phone call gets written down.
Want your message deleted? Ask us, and we’ll delete it. Details in section 9.
Children
This site is for homeowners planning work on a house. It isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect anything from them.
Links to other places
Some pages link out, to a county building department or a manufacturer, for example. Once you click through you’re on their site under their rules, and we don’t control what they collect.
Ask us anything about this
If you want to know what we have on you, or you want it deleted, or something here doesn’t sit right with you, get in touch and a person will answer.
- Phone: 813-957-2263

If this changes
If we add something that collects data, or drop something that does, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. We’re not going to quietly swap it out on you.
Still want to talk about your project?
Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll give you an honest read on whether we’re right for it.
